Getting Married Abroad - Las Vegas

Paperwork
UK citizens marrying in Las Vegas must provide the following documentation:
- Complete marriage license application. (You both need to be present in order to get this)
- A valid 10 year passport
- Birth Certificate
- Decree Absolute (if applicable)
- Death Certificate (if you are a widow/widower)
- Change of Name Deed (if applicable)
- You will also require a visa or waiver form to enter the country
- You will receive a souvenir marriage certificate after your wedding to take home but you need to get an official copy from the Las Vegas Wedding Bureau.
It may take 2-3 days for the Bureau to obtain a certified copy of the certificate. It is advised that you contact the Wedding Bureau in advance to clarify what documentation you will need to take with you. You can collect the certificate in person or mail your request to them.
Vegas weddings are legal in the UK, however they can only be recorded, not registered. Your wedding is recorded by taking your marriage certificate to the General Register Office. If you need a copy of your marriage certificate at any time you can then request it from the GRO, rather than having to go back to Vegas.
