Getting Married Abroad - Hawaii

Customs

'The money dance' is a custom at Hawaiian wedding. This is where the couple dance together and the guests give them a monetary gift to express their blessings.
The newlyweds are also presented with a flower garland, also known as a 'Lei'. The Lei is placed on the head with a kiss. A Lei is considered very important because it represents love and therefore should not be thrown away. The Lei is hung in the couple's home until it gets old, at this point the string is cut and it is placed in the ocean.
