Resorts
Dubai is an 'emirate' (like a US state) of the country the United Arab Emirates, so it is not a huge resort.

- Dubai's futuristic shopping malls sell everything you can think of and are worth a stroll around even if the purse strings are tightly closed! The Deira City Centre and The Pyramids are sometimes open until midnight
- The Gold and Diamond Park on Sheik Zayed Road sells wholesale jewellery tax-free
- Palm Island off the coast is the world's first man-made island and is, surprisingly, shaped like a palm tree
- The Shopping Festival which runs from mid-Jan to mid-Feb means most of the shops in Dubai sell their wares at massively discounted prices - fantastic bargains galore!
Things to Do
- Only in Dubai can you visit the desert and ski in snow on the same day! Ski Dubai is an innovatively designed, fully equipped ski centre with real snow. A perfect break from the heat!
- Go on a Desert Tour or Dune Dinner. Go for a ride over the sand dunes in a four wheel drive, spot camels, watch the sunset and then enjoy a barbeque at an authentic Arab camp
- Also in the desert are sand skiing, sand boarding, sand-karting and desert driving
- Visit a Sheesha cafe in the city and puff on every smoke flavour under the sun - from Strawberry to toffee!
- Experience Dubai's culture on a historic Arabian walk. The Bastakia Quarter, the Dubai Museum and the Grand Mosque are all in the city and make a wholesome break from shopping
